Purpose:
Objectives of Extension College:
The Extension study center of the Southern Bible College is to train Pentecostal laymen who are above 25yrs old and women who felt the call of God to do the ministry or to assist in the ministry.
Location
The Extension College program is conducted at three places in the Southern District. Four other places too. Total extension centers are seven.
Relationship:
The extension center program is conducted under the control and supervision of the Administrative Committee of Southern Bible College. In addition, each centre functions under the guidance of Registrar who is directly accountable to the Academic Dean and the Administrative Committee of the Southern Bible College.
Program Offered
Certificate in Christian Ministry [CCM]
The Certificate in Christian Ministry of one year program in vernacular with 36 credit units is to train the Sprit filled and called by God, having a minimum of five years of ministerial experience and attaining 30 years of age for Christian ministry.
Certificate in Theology (C.Th):
The Certificate in Theology of two year program with 60 credit hours is to give basic understanding of the Bible below 10th standard candidates in vernacular for Christian ministries.
Diploma in Theology in vernacular (D.Th):
The two year Diploma in Theology program of 72 credit hours is to train in vernacular the Spirit filled and called of God having 10th Pass for Christian ministries in their local areas.
Bachelor of Theology (B.Th.)
This is a three year (six semesters) degree programme of 108 credit hours designed for those who want further their knowledge while doing their ministry or when they do secular job. They must be successfully completed their higher secondary or its equivalent studies. This Bachelor of Theology program is for the called of God for Christian leadership, and for the church ministries.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENT:
- The candidate who seek admission at the Extension center must have a born again experience, baptized in water and filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues in accordance with the Biblical Standard (Acts 2:4)
- They must have a definite call for the Ministry..
- Male candidate must be above 25 years old.
- Female candidates do admitted.
ACADEMIC REQUIRMENTS:
- The final examination is not the only criterion in evaluating the success of the student in any subject. Rather class participation, assignments, monthly tests, practical ministries do considered.
- The degree will be granted to those who obtain a 50% aggregate and above. Those who receive less than 50% will receive only a certificate of completion.
